I-Shop Merchant is an enhanced version of the free I-Shop online store CGI script. Like I-Shop it is an easy to install and easy to maintain CGI script to enable you to run your own store on your site. The only requirement is the ability to run CGI scripts and edit HTML, and your own Authorizenet Merchant Account.


I-Shop Merchant adds browser-based management scripts for adding, modifying and deleting products for the flat-file database, uploading, renaming and deleting of store images, uploading, renaming and deleting of option files as well as the ability to view your store order log, access log and error log.

I-Shop Merchant is designed for “ease” of operation for both the consumer and store owner. It does perform real-time credit card authorization which still intimidates many buyers. So it also provides a multitude of transaction alternatives including payment by check, cash, money order, credit card and intermediary services such as Paypal. The payment options allow store owners to operate an online store with or without a Merchant Account. For individuals with Merchant Accounts it does allow for credit card payment via the “Authorizenet payment gateway”.

I-Shop Merchant does require a secure server , most shoppers expect one. It does provide for alternative secure transactions by writing the order to the store order log in an .htaccess protected directory if preferred. Running from a secure server is preferred and easy to accommodate.

I-Shop Merchant is designed to accept currency other than U.S. currency by simple modifications. It also allows for multiple sales tax configurations for stores, such as those in Canada, that must utilize this requirement.

I-Shop Merchant integrates shipping charges the store owners configures based on incremental sales amounts, ie., sales of x amount to x amount are charged x additional shipping. Similar calculations can be used to offer discounts on sales if desired.

I-Shop Merchant also can use destination fees based on the country of delivery allowing the store owner to implement additional fees based on the distance it must ship the product. This makes configuration easier than trying to establish all shipping charges through the Shipping Charges only.

I-Shop Merchant easily accommodates products that may have additional costs for similar items such as apparel sales. An example is the sale of an item that costs an additional amount for a different size or color. The options automatically add the additional amount to the sale preventing the need of multiple displays of similar items.

Lastly I-Shop Merchant is easy to modify using standard HTML to blend in with the existing look of your site so that it looks like it belongs rather than looking like an afterthought and causing your customers to question whether or not it's really part of your site.
